Zainab Boxwala

Zainab is a founding member and managing partner at Boxwala Zuzindlak PLLC. Prior to founding Boxwala Zuzindlak PLLC, Zainab exclusively practiced immigration law as a solo-practitioner under the auspices of Averna Legal Group in Michigan and later at the Law Office of Zainab Boxwala near Houston, Texas. She obtained her J.D.,cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan, and holds a Master of Arts degree in Globalization Studies from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. During law school, Zainab clerked for the Honorable Chief Judge Gerald E. Rosen of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. She cut her teeth on immigration law as a Student Attorney at the Wayne Law Asylum and Immigration Law Clinic where she served as first-chair attorney at her client’s all-day individual merits hearing at the Detroit Immigration Court.

 

Zainab works with non-profits to provide pro bono legal services to victims of domestic violence, helping them obtain or maintain lawful immigration status in the United States. She also received specialized clinical training related to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and naturalization.

 

Chelsea Zuzindlak

Chelsea is a founding member and managing partner at Boxwala Zuzindlak PLLC. Before founding Boxwala Zuzindlak PLLC, Chelsea worked as a Staff Attorney in the Business Immigration Practice Group at Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP. She started her career as a U.S. Department of Justice recruit through the agency's Attorney General’s Honors Program, serving as the sole Attorney Advisor to four immigration judges at the Detroit Immigration Court. She obtained her J.D.,cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan, where she also earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Anthropology and Asian Studies. During law school, Chelsea served as a Student Attorney at the Wayne Law Asylum and Immigration Law Clinic.

 

Chelsea has volunteered her legal services at various citizenship clinics across Michigan, and presently coordinates with non-profit organizations to render low-bono legal services to victims of domestic violence.

Both attorneys specialize in complex cases from business immigration to family sponsorship, and develop integrated strategies for every stage of a case. Zainab has expertise in drafting petitions and applications and directing the compilation of convincing evidence for obtaining EB-1 multinational executive/manager immigrant visas and L-1A nonimmigrant intracompany transferee executive/manager visas for small and large companies. On the family-based visa side, her expertise includes handling complex family-based immigrant petitions for cases which involve the Adam Walsh Act and marriage fraud bars, or which involve the compilation of extensive relationship and familial history documentation. Chelsea has expertise in executing the PERM process from ad drafting through audit; drafting EB-1 outstanding researcher immigrant petitions, L-1B nonimmigrant intracompany transferee petitions for employees with specialized knowledge, and TN nonimmigrant applications for Canadian and Mexican citizens; and coaching clients through the naturalization process, from the filing of the N-400 application for U.S. citizenship to the final interview with an immigration officer.
